Dear Ric,
Ric and Joy

Happy New Year! We are starting this year off with exciting news: our first CompassioNet Home is taking shape thanks to help from our local church, mission teams, people taking a vacation with purpose, and especially, Ted and Andrea from Casa Andrea. This past year I was not able to visit many friends and supporters in Colorado. I was there for less than a week and spent most of my time being re-energized at a Vineyard Church leadership conference before going on to Washington DC and my parent's internment at Arlington National Cemetery. So in case you've forgotten what I look like, here is a photo taken on my 53rd birthday in September. I married well didn't I? Although we will be adding a few more pages, we do have a church website up: WorshipinParadise.org. Check it out!

Effective compassion and development are about expanding the choices people have to lead lives that they value. With your partnership, we provide opportunities for people to dream for the future. Our current initiatives include building homes, home improvement and interest-free mortgages, the Vallarta Bookmobile, interest-free small business loans, English classes, Vacation with Purpose, hosting mission/work teams, emergency food/money/medicine distribution, and a mobile kitchen. Compassionate Impact is about being effective with our compassion. We are transforming the lives of the poor and disenfranchised. In partnership with YOU, we are planting seeds of hope for the future. Thanks!
bookmobile
One of the newest projects for providing hope and opportunities in Puerto Vallarta that we are proud to be a partner of is The Vallarta Bookmobile: Opening Books, Unlocking Futures. This has been a dream of Joy's for several years but she didn't have time to get it up and running. Well, one of Tucker's best friends, Dakota, is making it her high school service project! The goal is to get other high school students to volunteer on the bookmobile and share their access to books and their love of reading with those who are disenfranchised from books and quality education. Click here to read more about it: www.vallartabookmobile.com. If you want to donate specifically to the bookmobile project, click on one of the giving buttons (JustGive or CanadaHelps) and be sure to designate it for the bookmobile.

The work on our Compassionet Home received front page attention in one of Puerto Vallarta's English language newspapers. Click here to see a slide show of the progress on YouTube. The walls are up and the roof is on. Ted and Andrea hired a contractor so the work is progressing a whole a lot faster than if we were just using volunteers. The teams have included youth groups from Colorado, Missouri, and Mexico, and a church group from the Vancouver/Portland area, along with volunteers from our local church.
Donate Now Button
Join our network of compassion and be part of resourcing the under-resourced! We are asking every one we know and many we don't :-) to just give $10 a month. No more. Really! Just give $10 a month.

But if everybody just gives $10 a month it will add up to many interest free, small business loans, more books for the library, more CompassioNet Homes being built, more English classes. Mother Teresa said, " Small things done with great love will change the world." If you just give $10 a month, I can assure you that you will change someone's world. Just give $10 a month by clicking on the Just Give icon and follow the directions. Be sure and check the recurring donation box so that you will just give $10 monthly. Thanks for helping us plant seeds of hope for the future.
We are officially recognized as Compassionet Impact Development Canada so Canadian citizens can now also join our partnership through Canada Helps. So you Canucks can click here to plant your seeds of hope: CanadaHelps.org Thank you!

We want to thank you all once again for your love, prayers, encouragement and incredible support. We believe we are making a difference in lives through your partnership. Thanks!

Ric, Joy and Tucker Lehman
